Welcome

Some might say that Grays in Essex is a fairly  unprepossessing town situated as it is near the M25 and just off the A13, the nearest other town is Dartford and the main claim to fame is probably The Queen Elizabeth 2 Bridge across the Thames, the  longest cable stayed bridge in the world.  There is though, in Grays itself another talking point, The White Hart Inn on Kings Walk which, since 2006 has been transformed in to what the local clientele rate as an ideal local pub!

Very much a local’s local, The White Hart Inn is now virtually unrecognisable as the result of massive upgrading which has been extended to all parts of the building.  But it is not just the fabric that has been upgraded; there has been a clean sweep of any undesirable elements thus making The White Hart Inn a safe and friendly pub for both the established local resident and the increasing number of people moving in to the area.  Grays is after all within easy reach of London and, consequently, a magnet for both property developers and home buyers.  Interestingly, The White Hart Inn has steered a carefully planned course and now has not just a loyal base of local customers but, with an eye on the building development taking place nearby, it is proving to be a popular focus for contractors who after a long day, just want to relax with an excellently kept pint of beer before retiring for a good night’s sleep in one of The White Hart Inn’s guest bedrooms.  Perfect!

With the advantage of a car park and the summer advantage of a beer garden, The White Hart Inn is quickly making a name for itself and for all the right reasons. The locals cannot believe their luck as the landlord’s hobby is the keeping of real ales!  Consequently at any one point in time around four or five are available and all in superb condition.  He really does love his hobby and as a result of these endeavours, The White Hart Inn has received the S W Essex CAMRA Pub of the Year award 2007, 2008 & 2009 in respect of the quality of its real ales and ambience and also the Cask Marque award for its real ales.

Children can be a pressure for seemingly everyone but the parents involved so at The White Hart Inn there is a sensible policy aimed at keeping everyone happy.  Live music is becoming a significant feature and is staged on alternate Thursdays.  Another reason why The White Hart Inn is a local talking point.
